Meet the Team
Neurosurgeons, computer scientists, engineers and mathematicians, united by the mission to advance computational neurosurgery.
Professor
Antonio Di Ieva
Professor Di Ieva is a neurosurgeon, neuroanatomist and computational neuroscientist. He founded the CNS Lab in 2018 through the support of Macquarie University and the prestigious John Mitchell Crouch Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), establishing the first computational neurosurgery laboratory in the world (on the foundation of the Fractal Lab, founded by him in 2009). His research integrates clinical practice with advanced imaging analysis, fractal geometry and artificial intelligence.
MD (University of Naples Federico II) · PhD in Clinical Neurosciences (Medical University of Vienna) · FRACS
Professor of Neurosurgery, Macquarie University; Founder and Director, CNS Lab
ARC Future Fellow · 2026 Eccles Lecturer (NSA/ANS) · Consultant Neurosurgeon, Macquarie University Hospital & Nepean Hospital
